Big Data Software Engineer - London

My client urgently requires an experienced Big Data Software Engineer to join them in their London HQ.

THE ROLE

The Big Data Software Engineer will join a rapidly growing and successful Engineering Team of 21. The team focus on developing advanced web based applications with Machine Learning components, working closely with Data Scientist. to develop a wide range of cutting edge, best in business, analytical tools to provide real-time access to operations-critical information.

In this role as a Big Data Software Engineer you can expect to utilise the latest open source and advanced web technologies to develop REST architectures and APIs, leveraging Big Data technologies like Hadoop, HBase, Kafka for data storage and processing

THE REQUIREMENTS

- Exception full-stack front and back-end software development experience

- Strong skills in REST API Development

- Solid web development experience with Java, JavaScript Libraries (React, Node.js, Bootstrap etc), AJAX, JSON, HTML5, CSS3 etc

- Programming skills in one or more of the following: Python, Scala, Go

- Experience with unstructured and NoSQL DBs i.e. Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB etc

- Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Pig, Sqoop, Oozie etc

The following skills would be preferred, but not essential as training will be provided:

- Experience or an interest in Machine Learning Libraries such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, SparkML

- Experience with Cloud tech such as AWS, Azure or GCP

- Any Devops/DataOps experience with Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, Docker etc
