You will be involved in the designs and deployments of the world's most advanced energy storage systems. Role Summary/Purpose
The Data Engineer will assist in the development of simulation tools, forecasting methods, and data driven operation optimization algorithms for energy systems in Python. The role will be an integral part of the Simulation and Data Science team in the Research and Development group, working to accelerate the development of our software capabilities while supporting customer facing simulation efforts.

Responsibilities:
Tune data models and algorithms for conducting time series analysis, forecasting, and operation optimizations related to energy management, improving performance and accuracy within the context of the business logic.
Turn data models and algorithms into software and evaluate model effectiveness by conducting tests on large sets of historical data.
Develop algorithms for decision making under uncertainty, including dynamic time based uncertainty for both simulation efforts and real world operation of physical assets.
Write documentation on algorithm and model improvements to clearly communicate the structure of new methods and implementations, including justification.
The candidate must be able to embrace the fast and dynamic environment of a growth stage company, comfortable with adjusting quickly to the changing priorities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
Expertise in predictive analytics including regressions and machine learning techniques.
Expertise in time series models (MA, ARIMA, VAR) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN)
Expert in Python as a programming language (2+years).
Proficient in MATLAB (1+ years).
Can work independently and provide strong leadership
Desired Characteristics
M.S. or Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, or engineering.
Familiar with open-source analytic and data munging software.
Experience with "Big Data" and distributed computing technologies.
An academic concentration on renewable energy.
Work or academic experience in the energy industry.
Strong leadership record with active participation in renewable energy associations, forums, clubs, or groups.
Educational / Professional Requirements:
2-5 years of relevant experience
