Job Description

Excellent opportunity for a Data Protection Analyst to join a leading innovative British eCommerce brand, shaking up the retail space with a cutting-edge approach to the latest tech focused on elements of cloud, robotics, AI and IOT.

Salary - circa £35-45k + Benefits

You will be working directly alongside the Data Protection Manager and DPO, acting as an ambassador to promote a Data Protection culture throughout the company with a wide host of responsibilities as per below;

*Ensure that company data protection policies, standards and guidelines are operating effectively.
*Investigate data breaches, collaborate with the Data Protection Champions to identify remedial actions and ensure those are implemented.
*Immediately escalate data breaches to DPO that present a high risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects.
*Support the DPO when investigating any ICO complaints as required.
*Work with the Data Protection Champions in relevant functions and departments across the business to ensure the firm maintains processing inventories and a record/register of processing operations based on information provided by all the various departments in the organisation responsible for the processing of personal data.
*Integrate the business and technology data maps and ensure alignment and understanding of the overlaps and make sure issues and/or gaps are appropriately identified.
*Identify potential issues and risks in respect to the processing of personal data both within and across business functions.
*Clearly communicate areas of concern to Data Protection Champion, Process Owner and DPO escalating on issues log/Risk Register.

Key skills;

*Ideally close to 2 years'+ experience of process analysis and process documentation in a privacy programme or project environment
*Sound working knowledge of EU and UK Data Protection Legislation
*Understanding of information technologies and data security
*Knowledge of business process documentation, developing policies and defining best practice
*Ability to work with a range of business stakeholders to understand and articulate their activities in line with defined standards
*Demonstrable experience of investigating data breaches and advising the business in relation to data protection requirements.
