Job Description

Data Warehouse Architect (eCommerce)

Most suitable for candidates with recent Cloud experience, ideally 1-2 years+ commercial experience using Redshift or Snowflake. Preferably from an eCommerce, Travel, Gaming background.

Our client is one of the most exciting Travel/Leisure companies in the UK.

They've enjoyed a period of hyper growth over the last 5 years and now have 500+ employees.

Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Data Architect with a flair for data modelling to help build a world class data infrastructure that will be transformational for employees and customers.

- Design, implement, optimise, evolve, support and deploy new and existing data models to support many and varied use-cases across MI, analysis and data science

- Build and maintain complex business logic written in SQL that keeps up with the business

- Unify heterogeneous, raw data sources into analytically-friendly tables to support deep dive analysis (single customer behaviour view, marketing attribution, performance drivers etc.)

- Work cross-functionally with data scientists, marketing and commercial analysts to understand the business problems being tackled, the structures and relationships in our raw data, translate the business logic into SQL, and implement the SQL end to end.

- Adapt test driven development like practices (TDD) to SQL modelling, devising and writing assertions and validation that verify complex business logic

Experience

- Writing high quality SQL code on VERY large data sets (billions, from various sources)

- Full comprehension of data modelling techniques (Star Schema, Kimball, Data Vault etc)

- Recent and plenty of experience with cloud based tech (Snowflake or Redshift or AWS preferably)

- Python would be beneficial but not essential as there would be support from the engineers on this

- Experience in a fast paced, ecommerce business would be preferred but again, not essential

Salary £75k + pension, benefits
