Job Description

A market leading telecoms company are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join an exciting project as they implement GCP and AWS across their global business!

As a DevOps engineer, you'll be responsible for providing their teams with platforms and tools to power their Big Data Cloud Analytics Platform.

Critical to this role:

  • In-depth knowledge and practical understanding of modern software engineering and testing practices.
  • Cloud Architecture experience - GCP and AWS a must, any other cloud tech is a bonus!
  • Experience building Environments.
  • Passion for simplification and automation, with the drive to improve existing processes and procedures to lead to more efficient environments.
  • People skills - you'll spend a lot of time working with the Application, Quality and Architecture teams to collaboratively identify the right environment strategy to achieve the joint mission of Continuous Delivery and Automation.
  • Experience influencing multidiscipline tech teams across multiple locations and nations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and build their EBA process.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Architecture teams to drive the right environment strategy.
  • Provide a real time view on availability and performance by maintaining and enhancing their environment strategy.
  • Track and provide updates on all environment issues through to resolution.

Now let's talk Tech (desired, all not needed):

  • Hands on experience building complex GCP Environments with server less technologies.
  • Network architecture and Cloud environment experience.
  • Hadoop Ecosystem experience / Big Data ecosystem hands on experience.
  • CI/CD technology tools - Chef, Docker, EC2, Jenkins, Puppet etc.
  • Hands on experience with cloud-based platforms - AWS, Azure, GCP, Github, JIRA etc
  • Understanding of telecoms industry and functions that drive the industry.
