My client is a globally reputable management consulting firm who are in the process of investing heavily within their global data science and advanced analytics function. The key industry area of focus is the automotive industry, which they are looking to build out extensively.
The company are keen to hire an expert automotive leader/director who has extensive technical skills across the data science space. This individual will be instrumental in working with CEO and COO level executives, supporting them by converting data into tangible and value business engagements. It is essential that this person either come from a consulting firm (where there has been exposure to creating and managing large-scale projects, or client-side (where experience has been cross functional and supporting the entire business as an internal customer).
The ideal candidate will be able to build and justify models as well as create and review algorithms. Similarly, this individual will have an excellent understanding of data architecture, data management and automotive analytics and distribution. The ability to work both hands-on technically, as well as act as creative and strategic lead will enable you to support global automotive clients with a deeper level of business knowledge.
Required Skills & Experience
Executive presence, ability to drive senior executive thinking with C-level executives at our clients and senior account teams
Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Manufacturing and Automotive discipline at least 60% of recent career focus should be in these industries
Extensive experience solving manufacturing business problems with data science, e.g., supply chain optimization, anomaly detection, predictive equipment maintenance, predictive quality, IoT analytics, process capacity modeling, etc.
Superb data science (hands-on), rapid prototyping experience in predictive analytics, machine learning, optimization and artificial intelligence solutions. Fluency in R, Python, SQL, MATLAB, SAS, Java, Spark, Scala, AWS, Tableau
Value engineering (distilling a business case)
Experience with $1m+ consulting engagement management / economics
Practice / business development. Ability to manage and grow $3 - $5m portfolio
In this position you will be working very closely with C-Suite executives on a daily basis with your end clients and walking them through the Data Science implementation cycle and close the deal. You will be heading up a multi-million dollar P&L and targeted on growing this out for the practice.
