Head of Pricing Analytics (VP) New York/Wisconsin

The purpose of the Head of Pricing Analytics Partner position is to lead the development and implementation of actionable, data-enabled business strategies to improve organizational performance and influence business decision making by partnering with appropriate business groups, deploying analytic solutions and identifying opportunities for analytic development.

Job Description:

This role is similar to the consultancy model, just internal consulting. As a leader of the analytics group you will be required to sit down the with the different services lines & understand pain points & articulate where analytics can solve business problems or add business value to scope out projects internally.

You will then put together a mutually agreed plan to deliver the projects using resources from the analytics group & oversee the delivery.

70% of the role is to scope out analytics projects, build a book of work & formulate the projects.

Deep Industry knowledge/experience across both Personal & Commercial Insurance is essential.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Drive the development and refinement of Data & Analytics strategies by analyzing business performance, quantifying opportunities, overseeing model and analytic development and deploying analytic solutions
Partner with appropriate business groups to identify scope and analytic modeling needs to enhance organizational performance
Guide and influence business decision making by advising business groups on the interpretation of analytic insights and how to best leverage analytic findings
Oversee analytic projects and activities with other areas of Data & Analytics along with other supporting business groups to ensure business needs are met and sustained
Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility
Provide a positive environment by modeling cultural expectations and guiding leaders to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
10+ years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Advanced degree (MS/MA/MBA/PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Finance or other quantitative field
Experience in analytical leadership and consulting roles within insurance (Personal Lines, Commercial Lines or Programs)
Deep knowledge of statistical /data mining methods and successful business applications
Track record of implementing analytical recommendations and models that deliver significant sustained business impact
Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
Insurance processes and procedures, industry trends, standards and best practices
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong leadership and change management skills
Utilize effective communication skills to influence and persuade decision makers
Implement planning to prioritize, organize and measure work
Understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them
Monitor short and long term impact of contributions and ensure accuracy and adherence to long-term goal
Manage and prioritize competing responsibilities concurrently and effectively
Manage projects across different teams
Travel Frequency
Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)
