Job Description

Excellent opportunity to join a leading University as an Information Compliance Officer based in the heart of London.

This Privacy Office manages all requests made under an information compliance arena: data protection, freedom of information and the environmental information regulations etc. with a complex privacy structure dealing with close to 1000 requests a year and is increasingly moving towards a more centralised and automated way of searching for requested information to improve data capture and retrieval.

As part of developing their in-house privacy infrastructure. This University are looking to appoint an Information Compliance Officer to help spearhead privacy around a range of fields as per below.

Duties and responsibilities
*Facilitate searches for material in response to information compliance requests
*Work collaboratively with the DPO and additional stakeholders to search for material relevant to requests using eDiscovery tools where necessary
*Prepare retrieved material ready for the DPO to review
*Maintain accurate and auditable log of material retrieved by searches.
*Liaise with requesters to establish the parameters of searches
*Liaise and assist staff with locating the requested information and then securely transfer that information
*Facilitate communication between the Collaboration Team, DPO and relevant service owners and teams across the firm with respect to information compliance requests.
*Identify trends and help contribute to the improvement of processes around information compliance request handling
*Manage a secure, encrypted delivery mechanism for disclosures
*Administrate the encryption key process for requests

Key Requirements
*Have a general understanding of the requests for information under the information compliance law, e.g. data protection and freedom of information (training will be provided if necessary)
*Experience of working in an IT service and/or legal environment
*An understanding of information security in a data protection context
*Beneficial to have some form of experience of working with eDiscovery software and Office 365 security.
