Job Description

Interim Group Head of IT & Change required for a Lancashire based energy organisation.

Due to extensive growth, this energy organisation based in the North-West are seeking a experienced Head of IT to oversee the use of technology throughout group organisations including its development and implementation.

The role will be responsible for the management, strategy and execution of IT services; managing the company's technology operations; ensuring compliance with standard and industry regulations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.

Role and Responsibilities

*Oversee all technology operations to support the use of technology within the company. **Work with the IT management team and business leaders to create an IT strategy for the short, medium and long term.
*Provide leadership to the IT Development, Infrastructure and Support teams and to build a team that is customer-oriented, delivers business value and is well respected within the business.
*Manage IT and change resource (internal team members, contractors and 3rd party partners) and advise on appropriate options for improvement to service, risk or cost
*Providing expert advice and support when changes are being proposed and implemented.
*Ensuring written documentation is created and maintained, to include user and system manuals, license agreements and all documentation relating to modifications and upgrades
*To develop and maintain positive relationships with partners and stakeholders
*Liaising regularly with executive and senior management as well as system users
*Fully participate and contribute to senior management meetings to ensure you are aware of changes to the business and the impact they have on IT. Proactively present and implement solutions to address situations before they become an issue.
*To provide clear and cogent reports to required deadlines for the Board and key stakeholders as required
*To manage budget achieving value for money and managing the financial aspects of the entire IT department. Review and optimise current costs and achieve cost saving though contract consolidation and negotiation
*Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Computer Misuse Act, the Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulation and Health and Safety Acts (as applicable)

Knowledge and Skills:

*Proven track record in interim roles at a senior level within an SME IT environment
*Successful track record of implementation with delivery on time and to budget
*Hands on experience with complex project management
*Leading change in an IT environment
*Developing, implementing and managing strategies and plans aligned to key business objectives
*Excellent analytical skills
*Ability to utilise and manage complex IT systems
*Knowledge of B2C systems and tools, including CRM, and has exposure to working with, and *leveraging, integrated multi-platform systems.
*Good negotiating skills
*Proven track record of managing and motivating staff and leadership skills
*Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and able to communicate ideas to technical staff, business users and the Board with equal clarity
*Ability to explain complex IT information clearly to stakeholders
*Show a comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies and how they can be applied to the business to deliver benefit
*Experience of working in a regulated environment with experience of ISO27001:2013 and BS7858

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

*Degree educated or equivalent - Programming, Computer Science or related field
*10+ years management experience in an IT environment including software development and testing
*ITIL Certification
*Project Management Certification
