Job Description

Lead C# WPF Engineer - Worcester - £55,000

Lead Developer | C# WPF Winforms | Desktop Engineering | Principal Engineer | Lead Engineer

There's a point in the path of every Lead Engineer when they tip the scales and become more about their team than their own work. And it's hard to deal with sometimes.

I get it, you love to build things, you love writing top quality code, and you love to be the best at what you do. But there comes a point where it's better for the team if you delegate, if you spend more time hands-off, when your decisions become more about the whole team.

I'm not saying this role is going to be hands-off, not by any means. You'll still be creating some of the most advanced C# WPF software in the world, but you'll have to make the tough decision some weeks to not do any hands-on coding and focus on the team.

That means you'll be responsible for leading the team to greatness. Taking the existing 5 developers in Bristol and coaching, mentoring, and guiding them through the Agile sprint process. You'll also be responsible for building a new scrum team early next year, adding another 6 people to your team.

The Bristol site is in start-up mode, and you'll need to wear many hats. But the wider company is multi-national, cash rich, and very ready to invest in you and your team. They're very flexible as well, you can work however suits you best.

You'll be supported with constant training, both internal and external, guidance from people who have built offices before, and support from people who genuinely want to see you successful.

The progression kind of speaks for itself really - you can be ready for the step up or already a Team Lead but either way this role will see you moving into a Development Manager role as the Bristol team continues to grow.

Key skills:

  • C# desktop experience
  • WPF

If you feel like this could be the challenge for you then I'd love to give you some more details! Hit apply or get in touch now!
