Lead CRD Business Analyst - London - 6 months

I am working with an Investment Bank based in London who are seeking a Lead CRD Business Analyst to join the business on a 6 month initial contract,

My client have embarked on a programme of work to remove complexity in its operating platform and remove duplicative platforms from our technology stack.

As lead BA / PM you will be primarily responsible for the management and delivery of a specific workstream on the OMIS programme as well as providing analysis support for other workstreams.

Gather and document business requirements

Work with IT data analysts and developers to define solutions and implement change

Facilitate the required meetings and obtain signoff of acceptance criteria

Produce quality test plans and manage all aspects of system and user testing

Liaise with the wider technology teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues

The role will not only need excellent problem-solving skills, but you should also be able to see the strategic impacts of any cross-team dependencies and escalate where necessary.

The role will require strong communication and leadership skills as regular reporting with senior stakeholders is expected globally with core impacted teams being in the UK, US, Singapore and Australia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the Denver CRD Decommissioning workstream, identifying any such activity that currently resides in the Denver platform and ensuring that a suitable replacement has been identified in the London platform. This extends to all internal and external touchpoints for CRD.

Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates.

Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts

Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines

Develop and execute test plans either as an individual or in conjunction with other teams.

Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements

Manage the delivery of technical and business process change to meet the requirements and/or obligations of the specific projects

Determine resource needs, lead project execution, track and ensure quality deliverables

Manage and oversee third party administrator deliverables against the agreed plan

Manage internal and external IT design and development teams ensuring any solutions meet business requirements and implemented to high standards

Chair working groups as well as prepare necessary pre and post meeting documentation

Ensure project reporting responsibilities are met

Manage and escalate risks & issues that may prevent the successful delivery of projects through the appropriate channels

Essential:

Have an excellent understanding of CRD v9, being able to demonstrate conceptual changes, present them and then implement them within the team Scrum

Experience of working with OMS and Trading systems including expertise of Charles River (i.e. at least 5 years' hands on experience of working as BA on CRD).

Excellent understanding of change delivery within the asset management sector

Wide experience of business analysis across a number of different systems and/or teams

Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies

High level of technical skill in use of business analysis techniques, methodologies and artefacts to support agile software development

Have a strong understanding of financial products and processes used in Asset Management

Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technology personnel

Strong abstraction, organization and simplification skills

Experience of working in a global environment managing stakeholders across the globe

Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

Ability to analyse high-level requirements and translate these to overall detailed system-level design to be used for architectural design, cost / benefit analysis, and solution development.

Process Mapping & data analysis skill

Working knowledge of CRD inbound and outbound interfaces and technical setup

Understanding of Instrument types and associated attributes (Equity, FI, ETD, OTC, Cash)

Middle Office processes (TPA flow Security/Transaction/Position)

Self-motivation and enthusiastic approach - a completer-finisher able to work on their own initiative with a focus and commitment to delivery

Problem ownership - takes responsibility for identified issues and works to resolve in a pragmatic manner
