The Lead Solution Architect will pro-actively manage and lead the delivery of customer focused workshops, showing agility, flexibility and a capability to be technically creative, whilst aligning to the Operational Police Business processes.
Provide status information to Project Manager's task status and completion estimates.
Responsible for creating and achieving appropriate sign off the agreed project documentation around solution design and project delivery.
Inform the Project Manager when a customer requests an activity or deliverable that may be beyond the Statement of Work.
Validate with the Project Manager that the completion expectations have been met.
Working with the Project Manager Analyse and manage technical risks within projects, making strategic decisions on what will make the most effective use of resources.
Participate in strategic project review sessions to share materials or lessons-learned with the wider Hitachi Vantara team.
Create detailed technical designs from high level solution designs, based on analysis of customer's environment and requirements.
Define, socialise and gain agreement for key ingestion points and priorities of service
Provide guidance to local teams or 3rd party partners to collaborate and implement the technical solution, building mutual support and understanding with colleagues across functions.
Provide technical subject expertise to troubleshoot implementation, operational, connectivity and network issues, tailoring information, insights and arguments for different stakeholders.
Act as Lead SME on specific technical matters.
Mentor technical consultants within specialist areas.
Requirements for the Role
Prior Experiences and Technical Skills
*A Minimum 5 years Technical consultancy and delivery experience in a Solution Architect Role.
*Experienced with end user application(s), including Mobile technologies, able to collect and articulate Requirements Functional and Non-Functional, from a wide range of end user stakeholders.
*Delivery of multiple technologies, including but not limited to Middleware, Security Components, VMware, Operating Systems technologies and the appropriate good design practices including:
oRestful and SOA based Integration Architectures
oMessaging (Open Source, e.g. Rabbit MQ)
oSQL based and Non SQL based Databases
oBackup and restore technologies.
*A knowledge of standards relating to Security, Technical implementation and information management, e.g. MOPI, in the context of UK Government systems.
*Strong communication skills, comfortable in working in a technical team across multiple timezones.
*Mentor and guide colleagues as well as provide support for partners.
*A willingness to take the lead on projects and programmes with new technologies and disseminate knowledge within the wider team.
