Model Validation Manager, New York or San Francisco, Up to $190k base

One of the fastest growing consumer bank and wealth management firms are actively hiring for an experienced Model Risk Manager to join their expanding group. You will be working for a Financial Services company that offers private banking wealth management. They prides themselves on offering exceptional relationship-based service with a solid commitment to responsiveness and action across multiple locations in the US. There can be a lot of opportunities for the right person including relocation (optional) moving towards quant, statistics and machine learning and the opportunity to move into wealth management or compliance or to stay in mode validation.

What will I be doing?

Your role will include maintaining high quality models that are available for use in critical decision making. You will work closely with model owners and developers through the model lifecycle. You will be performing validation tests, discussing findings with stakeholders both internal and external and writing validation reports. In addition to these core duties, the Model Risk Manager also has opportunities to work on ad hoc projects within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). This position is supported by other MRM team members, including Junior Model Risk Managers.

What we are looking for?

  • Stress Testing experience, Model Development or Validation
  • Understanding of supervisory guidance on Model Risk Management is required.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: R, Python and SQL.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with colleagues.
  • Good communication skills and confidence in speaking with internal and external stakeholders
