Contract Opportunity: Payroll Officer - Leeds - contract length: 1 year - pay rate: PAYE: £17.04ph UMBRELLA: £22.90ph - Basic BPSS Clearance

Key aspects of this role will be to:
- Support the development and management of strategies and plans in relation to payroll, pay and benefit services with the People and OD Group
- Support the management of the Payroll contract working closely with Finance, Payroll and pensions providers and HMRC
- Work closely with colleagues in England and the Payroll provider to assure processes are in place, and ensure data integrity and quality service standards are maintained
- Support the Clients approach to wider Reward and Recognition issues
- Ensure processes are in place to maintain the accuracy of data; monitoring data quality issues and ensuring data cleansing takes place as required
- Lead on and support People and OD projects and proactively develop and implement improvements to internal systems and procedures
- Support key people systems and process initiatives identifying new ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with all necessary governance, audit and information security requirements

- Develop relationships with key stakeholders, particularly Finance, Assurance and internal audit
- Be a subject matter expert on Payroll and pay issues with up-to-date knowledge of payroll, pensions, employment and tax regulations and legislation
- Experience of medium to large size business payroll required and an excellent working knowledge of MS Office

Minimum Requirement:

Ideally public sector Background

Med/Large payroll Officer Experience

Contracts management

Pay and benefits experience

Some employment law experience

Candidates must have:
1) Previous Payroll management or Payroll contracts management experience
2) Previous experience working in medium-large organisations
3) Experience with wider pay and benefits development and issues and knowledge of employment law
