Principal Consulting - Life Sciences
New York
I am working with a dynamic, boutique Life Sciences consultancy who operate state-wide as well as in the UK.
Looking to on-board a Principal Consultant, with leadership experience and a strong background in life sciences to help support the growth and expansion of their practice.
As a Principal, you will be expected to drive the continued expansion of this exciting consultancy and their services within the Life Sciences sector. The role has three key areas; winning and delivering business with new and existing clients, support the development of the groups expansion and sit within the leadership group.
Key accountability's:
Winning and Delivering Business:
· Grows client accounts by developing and building trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders within the account, to include identifying new opportunities and new relationships
· Supports, guides and advises Project Managers to deliver high quality projects
· Identifies opportunities and wins business within new clients for the full portfolio of services
Supporting the Development of Expansion:
· Identifies short- and long-term business opportunities that stretch Consulting into new domains
· Defines new product and service offerings, blending them with existing services to create a compelling value proposition
· Identifies and leads thought leadership initiatives to support the growth of the brand in the market, such as speaking initiatives and authoring White Papers
· Line manages others, to include taking a lead role in the performance management and development of direct reports
· Act as a Change agent, serving as a member of the Regional Management Team, supports the ongoing management of the business, leading innovation and change initiatives

Technical Skills:
· Experience managing complex projects which are strategic in nature
· Strong people management skills
· Demonstrates a commercial mind-set with the ability to think strategically about client problems
· Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships both internally and externally at all levels
· Possesses an in-depth understanding of the life sciences / pharmaceutical industry, to include recent trends, developments and current challenges
· Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities within accounts
· Possesses an 'entrepreneurial' mind-set
· Excellent communication skills, to include writing and presentation skills
· Highly proficient in MS Office (to include Excel and PowerPoint)
Behavioural Skills:
· Track record of winning and developing large client accounts
· Demonstrates credibility and is networked within the industry
· Leads complex projects which are strategic in nature
· Ability to develop and implement growth strategies
· Passion for driving thought leadership in the market
· Excellent people management skills
Experience: 10+ years in life science consulting (i.e. biotech / pharma)
