How important is developing code that really helps people? A startup based in South Bank, London are developing a suite of applications that are helping some of the UK's most vulnerable people.

The start up are trying to improve the gaming industry for the better and are building an application that allows gaming companies to assess a customers affordability before they are allowed an account. It's aim is to reduce gambling related harm and has received very positive feedback so far.

You would be joining a team of 12 people and you would be the third developer in the company, they are looking to significantly increase the size of the company in 2019, the opportunities for mentoring, leading and progression are huge.

Your role will be to develop new features and work on greenfield projects for the company, although the company have been around for 2 years the product is still in its early days so there is lots of interesting things to do and add.

This role is a Backend Development role and you will be working with a tech stack of Java, Linux, AWS, SQL, Microservices / RESTful API, Junit, Docker, Apache Spark.

Ideally you should have 5 years + Java experience and experience with AWS and Linux.

They can offer an attractive salary of up to £80k as well as a strong equity package that could be very lucrative - they are receiving huge interest from companies currently so this could well be a possibility in the near future.

You would be working in a close knit team that are sociable and love learning new technology, it's a flexible environment that as long as you get the work done you can come in at 10am or 11am and leave at 4.
