Job Description
The ideal candidate is not only competent at software implementation, but also organized enough to break down ideas into issues and own the deadline of those issues across the software team. The candidate will report directly to the company’s executives and help drive product development and implementation.
Requirements:
Minimum experience:
- 1-2 years of experience with robot arm planning and control
- 5+ years experience with C++
- Proven track record of software development, organization, and issue tracking
- Writes clean and efficient code that others understand
- Extensive experience with software engineering tools (Git, SVN)
- Extensive experience of robotics software, concepts, and related tools:
- Robot Operating System (ROS)
- Robot kinematics and transformations (Eigen, TF)
- Point cloud and mesh libraries (PCL, VTK)
- 2D computer vision (OpenCV)
- End to end responsibility:
- Willingness and curiosity to debug networking, memory, and/or performance problems over the full stack
- Love for testing and experimentation to verify development with a hacker mindset to mature software into production
- Works efficiently and collaboratively:
- Ability to work well in teams as well as executes individually to meet timely deadlines
- Ability to document and communicate technical work plans
Nice to haves:
- Experience leading a fast paced software engineering team
- Experience with mobile robots and integration with manipulators
- Experience with nonlinear optimization tools
