This is an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer passionate about Robotics to join an award-winning and fast-growing company based in Bristol. My client harness AI and Computer Vision expertise to develop software for autonomous robots.

Due to growth and increased funding, they are looking to recruit a Software Engineer to help build new products and further develop their autonomous software platform. The ideal candidate will have commercial experience coding in Python and a genuine interest in Robotics or AI.

The role can be worked fully remotely so if you have the skills required, please apply regardless of location.

As a Software Developer you will:

• Develop software for our autonomous outdoor robotics platform using the Robotic Operating System (ROS) using, C++, Python, and more.
• Code-review, pair-program, and problem solve with teammates.
• Perform data collection and analysis with our robots to identify the best solutions to the real-world challenges they face.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, weekly sprint planning, retrospectives, and roadmap planning.

Experience

• 2+ years experience in Python/C++ development (Python preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field required
• Fluent with the use of object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms for problem solving
• Proficiency working in and developing software for Linux.
• Knowledge of ROS
• Familiar with version control using GitHub/GitLab or similar
• Experience with CI/CD for robotics
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for full software development life cycle including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
