Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support the rebuild of a high-impact dashboard product, transitioning from an MVP in Amazon QuickSight to a flexible, code-first solution. This is a pivotal role in a forward-thinking, cross-functional team that is piloting smarter, AI-native digital delivery using tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and agentic assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild and enhance data pipelines with a modern, automated, and scalable approach.
  • Evaluate existing manual pipelines and propose improvements or replacements using cloud-native tooling.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of reliable, high-quality data models and analytics outputs.
  • Champion modern delivery principles (lean, agile, cross-functional) and product-oriented thinking.
  • Embed AI-native workflows and support experimentation with tools like GitHub Copilot and agentic assistants.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining modern data pipelines using cloud-based technologies.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python and SQL for data engineering.
  • Experience with dbt and a strong grasp of data modelling approaches (e.g., star schema, dimensional modelling).
  • Public Sector experience
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow (or similar).
  • Solid experience with AWS services such as Glue, S3, and related infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Comfortable working independently and owning end-to-end data solutions
