Having made the journey to the states seven years ago, Lawrence Harvey has been on an incredible journey so far, and it’s just the beginning. Being the foundation of LHi’s US success and growth from a team of five people to 160 in just six years.
Austin, Texas is primed for a specialist tech search firm to assist in one of the most challenging recruitment markets in the last 10 years.
Austin is a microcosm of the larger-scale domination of Big Tech businesses, with the likes of Tesla, Amazon, Google, and Meta coming to town, which has a wider impact on the Austin economy and talent market.
Top talent is always at a premium, but when you add the above companies to the mix, it becomes hugely challenging for smaller, up-and-coming businesses to compete.
And that is where Lawrence Harvey comes in…
MISSION
We are on a mission to partner with / enable companies to attract top tech talent across Data Science & Analytics, Cloud Infrastructure, Software Dev & Engineering, and Cyber Security.
We provide full recruitment solutions and our hybrid approach to recruitment, meaning we can map markets, and identify, attract, and complete searches at the highest possible level.
It’s our aim to be the search partner of choice for tech businesses needing to build industry-leading teams and make a difference.
CURRENT STATE OF PLAY
Austin is the smallest of our three US offices and we have high-level growth plans to achieve our mission.
Lawrence Harvey is comprised of a great mix of both experience and youth, with the most recent hire, VP; Ross Lewis adding experience in both growing the teams, as well as 5+ years in the Software recruitment space. Ross’s vision is clear:
“We aim to emulate the success of our New York and LA teams and double our headcount within the next 12 months.
Our Go-to-market offering will be primarily Data Science & Analytics, and Software Engineering & Development.
We already have fantastic relationships in place with our Austin-based clients, and regularly host the ‘Data Leaders of Austin’ Roundtable, with an aim to expand on this and start a Software focused meetup for both our candidates and clients.
For me, success comes from making a difference to our clients and candidates and we are already doing that, we just want to do more!”
PLANS TO ACHIEVE MISSION
The Lawrence Harvey leadership team has rolled out new ways of working to ensure total collaboration between our three US locations.
The Austin office is already seeing the benefit of an extended candidate and client networks being utilised, especially with the continued popularity of remote working.
Our vast network is shared and cultivated daily across NYC, LA, and Austin – all our information and relationships are shared which enables a more positive experience for both candidates and clients.
EXCITEMENT
Austin has to be the most exciting Tech city in the country and we are so excited to be here adding value with some amazing companies.
While we’ve been operating here for 2.5 years, it feels like the journey has truly just begun and the next few years, will be both challenging and extremely rewarding, and we look forward to being part of these exciting opportunities ahead.
