Role: Head of Data Governance
Length: 18-month engagement
Location: Hybrid - Travel to Exeter 1 day per week
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Pay Rate: £550 - £600 per day

One of my public sector clients are currently looking for a Head of Data Governance to join their team on a predominantly remote basis with travel to client site in Exeter 1x per week. They are interested in a Head of Data Governance with experience of working in an Agile environment amongst multi-disciplinary teams. Past experience of working within the public sector would be ideal. Candidates must also be eligible for SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CDIO and Data Governance Group to provide strategic oversight of environmental data governance
  • Set environmental data governance policies, frameworks and standards
  • Be accountable for understanding and managing the organisational environmental data risks and issues
  • Encourage better data literacy and understanding of environmental data governance within the organisation

Key Requirements:

  • Lead the implementation of the Environmental Data Strategy and implement the necessary governance required for effective design and delivery products and services
  • Ensure appropriate environmental data governance frameworks, standards and principles are set in line with the corporate strategy and enterprise design framework
  • Direct continuous improvement to optimise data governance practices over the full data life cycle.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of assurance processes and set up reporting to the Data Governance Group and other routes as agreed.
  • Advocate improved environmental data risk management, advising on tactical and strategic matters both technical and non-technical.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, with deep expertise in AWS.
  • Strong background in secure infrastructure design, cloud-native security controls, and automation.
  • Solid programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • In-depth understanding of Kubernetes, service meshes, API gateways, and secure API design.
  • Ability to operate independently, take ownership of security initiatives, and drive continuous improvements.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a high-profile HR transformation programme for a major UK-based media organisation. Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience delivering SAP projects in the HR, Talent Acquisition, or Learning domains.

  • Track record of managing complex technology projects (£500k+ budgets, multi-vendor, multi-workstream).

  • Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Formal project management accreditation (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMI).

  • Experienced working in large-scale, fast-paced, and politically complex environments.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Practical experience with different delivery approaches and understanding their pros and cons.

Desirable:

  • Implementation experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and/or SAP Workzone.

  • Familiarity with public sector or media sector project environments.

  • Experience navigating procurement or commercial processes within project delivery.
