In this episode of Tech Talks, Edward Frost, Principal Recruitment Consultant with a specialised focus on Cryptography, is joined by Auryn Macmillan, founder of Gnosis Guild, to explore the future of confidential onchain applications through Encrypted Execution Environments (E3s).

The conversation traces Auryn’s unique journey from professional basketball to building cryptographic infrastructure, and dives into Enclave, a protocol that combines Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs), and Multi-Party Computation (MPC). Together, they unpack how this novel approach enables powerful use cases like secret ballots, sealed-bid auctions, and collaborative data analytics.

About the guest

Auryn Macmillan is the founder of Gnosis Guild, an applied research studio and venture builder developing decentralised infrastructure and radical software primitives. After starting his career as a professional basketball player, Auryn entered the crypto space in 2016 and helped lead DAO product development at Gnosis. He later co-founded Gnosis Guild, now an independent project behind Enclave, a protocol enabling encrypted execution environments for privacy-preserving applications onchain.
