ROS2 in the Wild: Scaling Robotics from Lab to Production

Share
In this episode of Tech Talks, Danielle Blake, Senior Consultant, Autonomy & Robotics, is joined by Dr. Marcus Schuenemann, Head of Autonomy at Dexory, to explore what it really takes to deploy ROS 2 in production and scale autonomous robots inside live warehouse environments.
With more than 15 years at the forefront of robotics and AI, Marcus shares how Dexory moved from prototype to a global fleet, the decision to build on ROS 2 and Nav2, and what changes when autonomy leaves the lab and enters real-world operations. The conversation dives into fleet orchestration, navigation, security, and the technical and organisational trade‑offs involved in running reliable autonomous systems at scale.
From open‑source foundations to full‑fleet deployment, this episode unpacks the challenges and lessons behind taking warehouse robots from zero to more than 200 units operating in production across the world.
